The Carbon Trust
Website of the organisation set up to promote low carbon technologies.

Enhanced Capital Allowance (ECA)
With the aim to discourage the use of carbon based fuels the ECA scheme aims to encourage the use of low carbon technologies by giving tax relief when energy efficient equipment is purchased.

Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)
The government department responsible for renewable energy and energy policy.

Energy Saving Trust (EST)
This organisation was set up by the government in conjunction with industry with the aim of lowering UK carbon dioxide emissions. One example of its work is the offering of grants and subsidies towards the cost of energy efficient equipment in domestic buildings.
