Architecture and Engineering Practices

For all construction students a knowledge of famous or exemplar buildings and the architects/engineers that designed them is essential. The web sites listed below are just a selection of some of the more well known built environment practices. Many of these sites carry case studies of the buildings they are responsible for.

Website of the prize winning and world leading architecture practice. The home page has images of buildings designed by the practice, click on them to obtain more information.

Gaia Group
Web site linking to information on three companies that share an approach to ecological design. Gaia planning, gaia architects and gaia research.

Nicholas Grimshaw and Partners
Website of the architectural partnership responsible for the Eden project, Cornwall and the Waterloo station train terminal. Visit the projects page for details of these and other projects.

Richard Rogers Partnership
View an interesting animated website giving details on a range of buildings designed by the Richard Rogers Partnership. Including the Millenium Dome and the Lloyds building. The case study pages gives information on the clients, the brief, the site, design, construction and environment.
