Air Infiltration and Ventilation Centre(AIVC)
The AIVC is a scheme run by the international energy agency (IEA) energy conservation in buildings and community systems programme. Site is used for the dissemination of energy and air quality issues related to ventilation.

Building Research Establishment (BRE)
UK institute for building related research this site gives information on current research and testing activities. It is possible to search the site using keywords. Note the catalogue of BRE publications is now held on the AJplus website (see publications category above).

Building Services Research and Information Association (BSRIA)
Carries out research specifically related to building services. The site allows you to view the current range of research, industrial liaison and product testing activities currently being carried out by BSRIA.

Construction Industry Research and Information Association (CIRIA)
CIRIA's stated mission is to improve the performance of all concerned with construction and the environment especially in the areas of process, water, environment and technology.

CREST
American website of the USA centre for renewable energy and sustainable technology.

Innovation and Research Focus
Website lists brief articles on current research written for practising engineers, architects, surveyors and their clients with the objective of disseminating research news as widely as possible.

National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL)
American site. The US department of energy's site for clean energy information.

Usable Buildings
Site, sponsored and maintained by Building Use Studies,giving details of how buildings perform in use. Visit the PROBE pages to view critical reports based pn post occupancy reviews of building performance.

Sheffield University SAVE Project
Site of the research project jointly run by Sheffield University Architecture department, in collaboration with other european organisations, for the dissemination of information on energy efficiency for construction students. Visit the information pack page to download very usful information on the environmental design of buildings. (hint scroll down the page to the hyperlink headings under the title "one and a half day workshop" e.g. the global context.

Timber Research and Development Agency (TRADA)
TRADA - the Timber Research and Development Association - is an internationally recognised centre of excellence serving the timber and woodworking industries and their suppliers and customers.
